A simple guide to the Review Importer — the little browser add-on that pulls your customer reviews in with one click.
What does this thing do? When you're looking at your business's reviews on Google, Facebook, or Trustpilot, the Review Importer copies them into your EchoRank account so you can track them all in one place. You don't type anything in — you just click a button and it does the rest. This guide walks you through it from start to finish.
You only do this part once.
It works in Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. Once it's installed, you'll see a small EchoRank button near the top-right corner of your browser, next to the address bar.
If you don't see it, click the little puzzle-piece icon up there and pin EchoRank so it stays visible.
Sign in to your EchoRank account, then click Extension in the menu on the left. Give your key a name you'll recognize (like "My laptop") and click to create it.
A code will appear that starts with er_ext_… — this is your personal connection key. Copy it right away.
That code is shown only once, for your security. Copy it the moment it appears. If you lose it, no problem — just come back to the Extension page and create a new one.
Click the EchoRank button in your browser to open it, then click Settings at the bottom. Paste your er_ext_… key into the box, leave the web address as it is, and click Save.
You'll know it worked when the top of the importer shows a green dot and the word Connected.
Do this any time you want to pull in new reviews.
Go to the actual page where your reviews live. For Google, that means opening google.com/maps, searching for your business by name, and clicking it so its full listing opens with the reviews showing.
A regular search results page is not the same as your business's review page — even if it shows some reviews. The importer only works on the real Google Maps, Facebook, or Trustpilot page for your business. If the button won't do anything, this is almost always why.
Open the EchoRank button again. When you're on the right kind of page, the Scan & Import Reviews button comes to life. Click it.
You'll watch three little counters move: Found (how many reviews it spotted), Imported (how many it brought in), and Failed (any it couldn't read). That's it — your reviews are now in EchoRank.
Back in EchoRank, click Monitoring in the menu. Your freshly imported reviews show up there, sorted and ready to track.
When you open the importer, the two lines at the top tell you everything.
You need both lights green before the Scan button will work. A green "Connected" with a red second line is the usual reason the button looks ready but doesn't seem to do anything.
Check the two status lights at the top of the importer. The most common reason is that the second light is red — meaning you're not on an actual review page. Make sure you've opened your business directly on Google Maps (not a general search page), Facebook, or Trustpilot, with the reviews visible. Once both lights are green, the button will work.
Your connection key needs to be added or refreshed. Open the importer, click Settings, and paste in your er_ext_… key from the Extension page in your EchoRank account. If you no longer have the key, just create a new one — it only takes a moment.
No. The setup steps (installing it and adding your key) are a one-time thing. After that, importing reviews is just: open your review page, click Scan, done.
No need to worry about that. If you scan the same page again later, it brings in any new reviews and skips the ones it already has.
Yes. The importer never sees or stores your Google, Facebook, or Trustpilot password. It only reads the reviews already shown on the page in front of you, the same ones any visitor can see, and sends them to your own EchoRank account.
Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. It does not run in regular Google Chrome or Safari.
That's completely fine. Go to the Extension page in your EchoRank account and create a new one, then paste it into the importer's Settings. You can also remove old keys there at any time.
